Company - GPlusMedia

Company

Japan’s online English media leader.

GPlusMedia has over 20 years’ experience providing English services and information to foreigners in Japan.

We have real-world experience in finding people jobs, assisting companies fill positions and helping foreign residents adjust to life in Japan. Our multinational team can create effective strategies for clients that want to connect with their target demographic in Japan.

We launched the GaijinPot information portal in 1999 as an English-language resource that was lacking in the market for people living and working in Japan. The website was developed by and for foreigners — and it quickly drew a large, loyal and diverse following. It grew to comprise listings of jobs, apartments and personal classified ads.

In the 2000s, GPlusMedia expanded its media and marketing operations with the acquisition of Japan Today, the country’s No. 1 English-language news and commentary site. The popularity of our online channels earned the attention of Japanese companies keen to reach the international community here in Japan.

In 2015, GPlusMedia was acquired by Fujisankei Communications, one of Japan’s largest media groups, allowing us to provide unequaled marketing solutions for our clients.

As part of GPlusMedia’s commitment to help foreigners with life in Japan, we recently started offering study-in-Japan courses and online learning as well as up-to-date travel information covering all of Japan on our GaijinPot platform.

Our digital marketing expertise has expanded beyond websites to include the use of social media networks, video and printed publications.

In 2020, we added Japan Info and Real Estate Japan to our group of information portals providing necessary English and foreign language information about life in Japan.

Today, GPlusMedia owns and operates four leading online English media brands. In addition to GaijinPot and Japan Today, we also own and run CareerEngine and Savvy Tokyo.
