TOKYO — To help curb the potential spread of the new coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) currently affecting China, Japan and other countries; GPlusMedia is adopting measures at its Tokyo head office to reduce infection risk and ensure the safety of its employees and others involved with the company.
We have instituted “telework,” or work-from-home hours, for concerned staff who wished to do so when the first cases appeared in Japan. From Feb. 25, 2020, GPlusMedia is recommending all of our employees to consider remote work if possible or to choose off-peak transport hours to avoid congested and confined spaces when coming to the office.
All regular services and customer support will still be operating. We ask our business partners, however, for their understanding and cooperation as we do what we can to minimize staff exposure and transmission of this virus in the busy metropolitan Tokyo area at this time.
Clients should understand that company representatives may not be available for face-to face meetings — either at the GPlusMedia or the partner’s office — though communications can still be done over the phone, via video teleconferencing, email or rescheduled to mutually agreeable times.
As the spread of the new coronavirus expands and its effects remain unpredictable, GPlusMedia will monitor the situation closely. We may consider extending these measures to help control transmission, if necessary.
